Source review

[edit]

[1] - Independent, non-trivial, not sure how reliable newmediarockstars.com is however their mission statement is "NewMediaRockstars is an online publication whose mission is to empower, inspire and promote the independent new media community." however I can't tell if there is an editorial board or anything.

[2] - Right This Minute TV segment talking about the subject and a viral video of his. Not sure if this would count towards notability since the written segment below the video is fairly short, but the video segment discusses him in a bit of detail, is independent (not an interview) and TV shows generally have fact checkers/ an editorial team, so is reliable.

[3] - Swedish language source, using machine translation the source Lerums Tidning seems reliable as it has an editorial board. The article has quotes from Joel, but there are independent sections.

[4], [5] - Huffington post and Business Insider articles which link to a video of the subject's, however both only include a few sentences in detail. The article is only focused on Roomie in both cases, but could be seen as trivial coverage. Both are independent from /fairly/ reliable news organisations.

[6] - Inside Edition have a similar article to [4/5], but also includes quotes from the subject, which would not count as independent.

[7] - Polish language source, coverage of a subsequent video than in sources [4/5/6], in more detail/ more significant coverage. The source is independent, I don't have much knowledge of muzyka.interia.pl as a source but it seems reliable - when I searched for it on the Polish wikipedia, it seemed to be used as a source quite frequently?

[8] - Brief article from Capital FM the article is independent and reliable(one of the biggest radio networks in the UK?).

I'm not including articles related to Congratulations as most are focused on 'notable YouTube incidents' with only trivial mentions of the subject.

I think [2],[7] and [8] are the best sources to look at to consider WP:GNG, along with [4], [5] which are slightly briefer in their coverage. Ym2X (talk) 13:45, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Found another Polish source [9] - from Fakt, the source has significant coverage, and is independent. I don't know anything about fakt.pl, the wikipedia article says its's one of the most popular national newspapers in Poland, but it does have a criticism section. Published page

[edit]

Hey Ym2X, sorry, I didn't see this draft you were working on. I went ahead and published RoomieOfficial without knowing there was an effort over here to write a better article. I figured he was notable because he passes WP:MUSIC for having a single (Congratulations) on several country's national music charts, so I boldly created it. Sorry for jumping the gun! Feel free to re-write anything I did over there, I think this draft is better organized than what I did. Mbdfar (talk) 03:58, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Mbdfar: No problem, I'll have a look and add some stuff, please feel free to revert if you disagree and we can discuss Ym2X (talk) 12:36, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
